Inspiration comes from strange sources. In this case the Dylan Thomas poem and the Werewolf the Apocalypse players handbook.
I rarely (read never) write poetry about myself so even this is weirdly distant.
When Will You Rage?
I watch you as the shouting curses you
And I see you--calm, gentile,
Unruffled, so tightly controlled
As you ever are and ever have been
And I wonder at your stillness
When will you rage?
They've hurt you, tortured you,
Raped your mind and soul
And you winced and you shuddered
And added another brick to your burden
Then drew yourself up again
Cold and terribly silent
But when will you rage?
I know you're screaming
I know you're dying
I know that your calm is a lie
I've heard your voice shred like paper
Bleeding from the pain
And I've waited to hear you cry
But you are marble--
Stone--smooth and cool
Standing firm while you are battered
I try to reach you
To touch that pain you hold
So dear, so close
To try and bring that rage.
Rage
Or it will burn you within
And char you to
Ash.

Nice variation. I liked the way it flowed, and as I always say, I liked the short ending. Geez, this was good!
